Situated in the Great Victoria Desert.
Yeo Lake Campground offers basic camping in the homestead area. Yeo Lake Nature Reserve lies in the Great Victoria Desert and is part of the refugia for biological diversity in arid and semi-arid Australia. The reserve encompasses Yeo Lake itself, which is listed (in conjunction with Lake Throssell and their associated claypans and ephemeral drainage areas), in ‘A Directory of Important Wetlands in Australia’.
SITE ACCESS
Yeo Lake is approximately 200km north-east of Laverton. From Laverton, take the White Cliffs Yamarna Road then the Anne Beadell Highway-Serpentine Lakes Road. Alternatively, take the Central Road turn off onto Point Sunday Road then onto the Anne Beadell Highway.
Access is four-wheel drive only and visitors must have provisions such as food, water, fuel, and recovery gear.
Please note: GPS Co-Ordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park, there should be signs of the actual campgrounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions
FEES & BOOKINGS
There is no charge for camping at this site so we urge you to keep the location clean and tidy for the next visitor.
FACILITIES
Facilities include rainwater tanks (it is recommended that water is boiled before use), a barbecue area, tables, and a toilet.
THINGS TO DO
Wildflower viewing, nature observation, and photography are popular in the area.
