Wolfe Creek Crater Campground – Wolfe Creek Crater National Park (FC)

For a camping holiday with a difference, you can visit spectacular Kandimalal-Wolfe Creek Crater, the second largest meteorite crater in the world. This is a very basic bush camp site only a few hundred metres from the crater itself.

SITE ACCESS
145km from Halls Creek via the Tanami Road and access road (gravel and only accessible to conventional vehicles during the dry season). Allow two to three hours driving time from Halls Creek.

Please note: GPS Co-Ordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions

FEES & BOOKINGS
No fees apply. Best time to visit: May to October (dry season).

FACILITIES
The campground has an information shelter and toilets, but no water is available. Please take ample supplies of water with you always.

THINGS TO DO
Wolfe Creek Crater is a wonderful site for sightseeing, walking, photography and nature observation. Viewing the crater rim is a must. Another spectacular way to view the crater is to take an aerial flight from Halls Creek.

GUIDELINES
Very few campgrounds have waste bins – take all waste with you when you leave.
