SITE ACCESS
The camp site is on the eastern side of the island between Middle Road, heading south to Rous Battery. Kooringal is the closest township.
If towing a trailer it is recommended to use Bulwer-Blue Lagoon Road instead of Middle Road as this track is one-way and narrow. The soft sand of Middle Road makes it easy for heavy vehicles to get bogged which can block the track for several hours. Amity Trader barge landing point from North Stradbroke Island is a short drive to this camping zone. Periodic exposure of rocks may mean the south-east beach is impassable at high tide.
Moreton Island is 40 km offshore from Brisbane. The island can be reached by ferry, barge or boat. Barges and ferries for vehicles and passengers run daily. If you are not taking a vehicle, choose your island destination point and book the ferry or barge from the corresponding departure point.
Private boat access
Moreton Island is in exposed waters. Large seas can be experienced between Moreton Island and the mainland. Consider your experience and the suitability of your vessel, and take into account currents and predicted weather and sea conditions when planning your trip. No public moorings are available at Moreton Island.
4WD access
4WD (4WD) vehicles are essential for driving on the island. 4WD vehicles with high clearance and low range function are strongly recommended. All-wheel drive vehicles without true 4WD function and vehicles with low clearance will have difficulty along inland tracks and in soft sand, and are therefore not suitable on Moreton Island.

Please note: GPS Coordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FACILITIES
There are no facilities on this camp site. This camping zone offers surf beaches. For hygiene purposes, campers who are planning an extended stay should bring a portable toilet. Please do not place contents into toilets on the island-it destroys the bacteria in the systems. All portable toilet waste must be removed from the island.
