The location is suitable for Camping beside my vehicle, and Tents.

For great views of Snowy River right out of the tent, you can’t go past Scotchies Yards campground, situated directly on the riverbank. Drift to sleep to the sounds of water rushing south to Victoria, and wombats foraging in the undergrowth.

Scotchies Yards campground is attractive at any time of year, offering an escape from Jindabyne and the ski resorts during winter, and a cool retreat during warmer months. Basic facilities make it well-suited to a casual picnic. Autumn and spring are ideal seasons to bring some swimmers and go paddling in the water without the harsh glare of the summer sun. Consider packing a fishing rod, too – the area is a popular spot to snag wild trout.

If birdwatching is of interest, Kosciuszko National Park is home to a staggering variety of native birds, particularly in the southern wilderness. Keep your binoculars handy to spot everything from currawongs to kookaburras soaring overhead or nesting in the trees.
