Murwillumbah Showground has a large grassy area suitable for fifth wheelers, big rigs, motor homes, clubs, and caravans. There is plenty of room to move between sites. The grounds are well maintained and the site is pet friendly and with basic facilities, travellers will surely enjoy their stay. A maximum of 7 days has been implemented so that other guests can also appreciate the area. The Showground fills very quickly and can reach capacity on a daily basis due to limited sites.
The Showground is situated within easy walking distance to the town centre. The town is well serviced with all major essential services provided, including doctors and medical services.
The caretakers are very welcoming and host “Happy Hour” most afternoons. On occasions the Caretakers and the Showground Trust host a campers BBQ (Gold Coin Donation) in the Tea Tent which is a great way to meet other travellers and find out more about the local district. Murwillumbah Showground is an ideal location to base yourself and explore the Tweed Region and the many little towns surrounding it, it is also within easy access to Mt Warning and Natural Bridge, and only 30 minutes to the Gold Coast. (See Things to Do below)
HOW TO GET THERE
From the North or South exit the M1 Pacific Motorway at Tweed Valley Way (signed Murwillumbah)and proceed to the town area on the South of the Tweed River. At the roundabout next to the Information Centre turn West and cross the River; go straight ahead at the first roundabout and turn right at the second one (Brisbane Street). Turn left at the end then first right into Queensland Road, then into Mooball Street, and the entrance is on your right.
SHORTCUT
If driving in from the Pacific Highway, and you want to avoid the centre of town. Turn right into Cane Road, just past the Congong Sugar Mill. Follow this road right through, past the Racecourse, take the hard left hand bend in the road, and you will come to a T-Intersection at Queensland Road, Turn left, then right into Mooball Street.
CAUTION USING GPS: Some GPS systems may take you the long way around and up the hill. Best access is via Queensland Road then into Mooball Street.
SITE ACCESS
The driveway can be a bit tight if entering from the right. Once in the gate, you will immediately see a sign pointing to the caretakers van. There is plenty of room to pull over on the grassed area and let them know you are there. In the rare event, they are not there, park up around the perimeter of the main ring and ring them on the number provided to let them know you are there.

My wife & I camped one night on 22/12/17. The video above about the camp ground is very accurate.
I highly recomend staying, a lovley quiet, convienent camp ground. We enjoyed an exceptionaly nice evening meal at one of the many restaurants in town, a short walk away.
We will most certainly stay again.
