Harrys camping area is set among fringes of open forest and woodland (melaleuca, allocasuarina, bloodwood and eucalypt species). Some camp sites provide shade. Harrys camping area is only available to permit holders who have booked for Harrys. Permit holders for other areas cannot transfer to Harrys camping area. They must rebook.
The camp site is located on the western bank of the upper Noosa River. 4WD vehicle, boat, or canoe can be used to go to the camp site. Camp sites 1-15 permit holders and day-users can park in the canoe launch area. Vehicle permits are NOT required to access this camping area. High-clearance 4WDs are recommended along Harry’s Hut Road, as it is an unsealed sand track prone to flood damage.
Number of sites: Maximum of 6 people per site. A group site is set aside for authorized school and organised groups. There are 7 river access sites
Surface: Sand and grass.
SITE ACCESS
The camp site is approximately 11.5km from Elanda Point via the upper Noosa River, or approximately 34km from Boreen Point on mostly unsealed roads.
Cooloola lies between the coastal towns of Noosa Heads and Rainbow Beach.
Noosa Heads is about 155km (about a 3hr drive) and Rainbow Beach is about 240km (about a 3hr drive) north of Brisbane.
Please note: GPS Coordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.
FEES & BOOKINGS
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite. Please note: school and group bookings will not be made until all required paperwork is received by QPWS. Advance bookings required for holiday periods including long weekends and public holidays.
Fees for camping permits are:
$6.55 per person per night or $26.20 per family group per night.
$3.60 per person per night for students and accompanying adults on approved excursions.
FAMILY RATE. For camping fees, a family group is defined as one or two adults and accompanying children under 18, up to a total of 8 people. Children under 5 years of age are free.

FACILITIES
Untreated water (treat before drinking), toilets, picnic tables, and picnic shelter in day-use area, jetty and canoe landing access points, park information.
RULES
Keep to defined vehicle tracks and walking trails.
Camp in designated areas to avoid damage to fragile vegetation.
Take rubbish home with you – if you carry it in, carry it out.
