Flaggy Rock Cafe (CG)

Flaggy Rock Cafe situated adjacent to the Bruce Highway approximately 1.5 hours South of Mackay. The cafe is sited on 6 acres of natural bushland with two billabongs to add to the peace and tranquility of the property, that has an abundance of wildlife, including the odd Koala. The cafe serves all things homemade including ice cream, smoothies, milkshakes, chunky pies, sausage rolls, cakes, and scones as well as a full menu for Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch and Tea. Hot and cold drinks are also available.

Overnight parking is available for self-contained units (E.g. Caravans, mobile homes, 5th wheelers).

There are 3 acres of natural bushland and man-made parks for patrons to walk around and exercise their pets.

The cafe area is open from 8:00am – 3:00pm, 7 days a week. (Excludes some Public Holidays. The front gates are locked after hours, for added security.

HOW TO GET THERE
Being located on the Bruce Highway, Flaggy Rock Café is easy to find. It’s about 108 km south of Mackay and 228 km north of Rockhampton on the eastern side of the highway. If heading north, there’s a dedicated right-turn lane to enter the property.

SITE ACCESS
The property has a large entrance, so there is ample room for large caravans, campervans, buses, and fifth-wheelers to enter. Once on-site, look for the sign indicating the RV parking area, where there is plenty of space to pull up and turn.

THINGS TO DO
While there’s not a huge amount to do in the immediate area, the nearby Flaggy Rock Community and Recreation Centre has a swimming pool that is open to the public.

The closest major town is Sarina, 72 km north of Flaggy Rock Café. Here you can visit the Sarina Field of Dreams Parklands, which includes an art gallery, arts and crafts centre, historical centre, and the Sarina Sugar Shed, where you can learn about the local sugar industry. There are several beaches a short drive from the town.
