This Conservation Park has only 5 camping sites available at 4 locations, these are suitable only for tent or small campervan use.

Big Sand Dune Campground (1 site)

Wreckers Beach Campground (1 site)

SITE ACCESS
Kangaroo Island may be reached by ferry services departing from Cape Jervis, approximately 2 hours drive from Adelaide on the Fleurieu Peninsula. There are usually four services per day.
Once on the island Cape Gantheaume Conservation Park is located 40km south west of Kingscote. Access to all locations is via D’Estrees Bay Road Road.

Please note: GPS Co-Ordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the National Park entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual campgrounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

Self-registration is no longer available in the park, you must book and pay in advance via the link beow

Many National Parks in South Australia require a Park Pass to enter, Kangaroo Island Tour passes are currently (Oct 2020) Unavailable due to bushfire damage. General information on park Passes for SA is available HERE

THINGS TO DO
The park has plenty of walking opportunities, including the unmarked Cape Gantheaume Coastal Trek, suitable for experienced hikers only, and established trails at Murray Lagoon.
Murray Lagoon supports wetland habitat for abundant birdlife, while D’Estrees Bay has beautiful beaches for recreation. This bay is a historic site connected to the island’s early whaling industry.
The self-guided drive along D’Estrees Bay Road allows the visitor to discover the natural and cultural significance of the area. Designated points of interest along the 8km drive are marked.
