Burtons Well camping area is one of the three camping areas in Bunya Mountains National Park. The camp site is a large, well-grassed open area surrounded by forest. There are a number of ancient grasstrees scattered through the camp. The camping area can be reached by conventional vehicle. It is not accessible for trailers, caravans or buses. Although the campground is accessible by car, it is not possible to drive onto the camp sites. Parking is available only a short distance from each camp site.
Number of sites: Open area without separately defined sites for up to 50 people.
Camp sites are suitable for: walk-in camping only, cars must remain in carparks nearby.
Camp site surface: Grass.

SITE ACCESS
Access to the Bunya Mountains National park is via the Bunya Mountains Road, South of Kumbia or north of Kaimkillenbun or via the Maidenwell-Bunya Mountains Road from the East. The camp site is approximately 8.5 km north-west of the QPWS information centre.

Please note: GPS Co-Ordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FEES & BOOKINGS
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite. Bookings should be made up to 12 months in advance for school holidays, long weekends and large groups.
Fees for camping permits are:
$6.55 per person per night or $26.20 per family group per night.
$3.60 per person per night for students and accompanying adults on approved excursions.
FAMILY RATE. For camping fees, a family group is defined as one or two adults and accompanying children under 18, up to a total of 8 people. Children under 5 years of age are free.
Permits are not available on site and must be booked prior to your visit. Bookings should be made up to 12 months in advance for school holidays, long weekends and large groups. Read more about CAMPING COSTS & BOOKINGS

FACILITIES
Water (treat before drinking), toilet (hybrid system), picnic tables, wood barbecues, firewood and cold showers. A donkey boiler is available nearby to heat water for showering—take care when using and follow the operational guidelines provided on site.

RULES
Keep to defined vehicle tracks and walking trails.
Camp in designated areas to avoid damage to fragile vegetation.
Take rubbish home with you – if you carry it in, carry it out.
