Broadwater Waterhole camping area – Lochern National Park (CG)

Broadwater Waterhole camping area offers great bush camping experience. The camp site is surrounded by mulga and gidgee woodlands. The camping area can be reached by conventional vehicle, 4WD is recommended.

Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping, camper trailers.
Camp site surface: dirt.

SITE ACCESS
To get to the camping area, turn-off is approximately 5km from the park’s eastern boundary. Turn right and travel another 2km to the camping registration stand.
Lochern National Park is 45km north of Stonehenge. Turn off the Longreach-Jundah Road at the Lochern signpost 100km south of Longreach. Follow this unsealed road for about 40km to the park boundary at Thomson River.
If travelling from Winton via Lark Quarry, allow 4-5 hours for the 330km trip. Expect poor, rough road conditions and watch for bulldust and road trains.

Please note: GPS Coordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FEES & BOOKINGS
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite.
Fees for camping permits are:
$5.75 per person per night or $23.00 per family group per night.
$3.20 per person per night for students and accompanying adults on approved excursions.
FAMILY RATE. For camping fees, a family group is defined as one or two adults and accompanying children under 18, up to a total of 8 people. Children under 5 years of age are free.

FACILITIES
There are no facilities on the camp ground.

RULES
Keep to defined vehicle tracks and walking trails.
Camp in designated areas to avoid damage to fragile vegetation.
Take rubbish home with you – if you carry it in, carry it out.
