Many showgrounds offer affordable and convenient locations to camp, especially for larger RV’s. Many will also permit pets. However, many showgrounds are closed at certain times of the year due to the Annual Show or other events. It is always best to check their website or call ahead to avoid disappointment.

We welcome caravans, motorhomes, and campers at the Blackbutt Showgrounds. The Brisbane Valley rail trail runs directly past the showgrounds, so camping at the showgrounds is very convenient for those horse riders, walkers, and cyclists using the trail. Casual/Short-term Camping only, no permanents. You are welcome to stay from a single night, up to a maximum of 14 nights.

HOW TO GET THERE
Blackbutt is around halfway between Kilcoy and Kingaroy on the D’Aguilar Highway. In town turn right at the only major crossroads into Muir Street and pst the Post Office; the Showgrounds entrance is about 400m on the right.

SITE ACCESS
Proceed straight ahead to the area beyond the buildings close to the show ring and choose your own site.

FEES AND BOOKINGS
Make your way to the Self-registration Station. This is located up from the toilet and shower block and in the covered walkway. The station has a timber bench, a timber box containing the camping registration forms, and a slot in the wall to receive the envelope and your payment. Complete the camping self-registration envelope and include your payment. Detach the campsite tag and attach it to your campsite.
Place the envelope in the slot on the wall.
Unpowered site – $8 per person per night, Powered Site – $10 per person per night

Stayed 3 nights & rode the rail trail to Moore which I can recommend. Visited golf club coffee shops & the Sunday market which had a very good range of goods at very reasonable prices . Voluntary admin of Showgrounds was excellent and facilities spotless . A great getaway from Sunshine Coast or Brisbane within 2 hours. Very friendly town . We will be back.
