Big Hill Campground is an open grassy area surrounded by tall forest. The campground and is divided into tent sites and campervan/caravan sites. Car parking is adjacent to the tent camping area. Sites must not exceed two tents, within 5x5m area. Please camp next to your site number. Additional vehicles not permitted. This campsite is subject to seasonal closures between June 1st – 31st October inclusive.

The Great Otway National Park stretches from Torquay through to Princetown and up through the Otways hinterland towards Colac. The park features rugged coastlines, sandy beaches, rock platforms and windswept heathland. In the north, the park features tall forests, ferny gullies, magnificent waterfalls and tranquil lakes.

SITE ACCESS
The Great Otway National Park (Torquay to Kennett River) is south of Melbourne via Geelong, Winchelsea or Deans Marsh. From the west, approach via the Great Ocean Road.

Please note: GPS Co-Ordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the National Park entrance or as close to the camp site as possible. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FEES & BOOKINGS
Fees no longer apply to basic category campgrounds. For all stays up until 30 June 2015, you will still need to book a campsite, but no fees will be charged. After 1 July 2015, no bookings will be taken for campgrounds where fees do not apply. Camping will be first in, first-served.
A 100% discount will apply to the Basic campsite fees when proceed with your booking.

FACILITIES
Non-flush pit toilet and communal fireplaces. Pease bring your own firewood. Firewood can be purchased from nearest townships. Firewood collection is prohibited in the Great Otway National Park.

THINGS TO DO
Hosting over 1 million visitors each year, popular activities include bushwalking, camping, picnicking, nature study, rock-climbing, bike riding and fishing. The extensive network of roads makes car touring to surrounding villages another great way to explore

RULES
All the plants and animals in the park are protected. Leave the park as you find it.
Bins are not provided. Please take your rubbish with you.
Light fires only in the fireplaces provided. Learn more about campfire safety.
Firearms are only permitted in the park according to hunting regulations. Please refer to the hunting page.
Keep to designated tracks.
Dredging and gold fossicking are not permitted.
Vehicles and motorbikes may be used only on roads open to public vehicles. All vehicles must be registered and drivers licensed.
